Simple neat template called 2Plus

This is a neat template called 2Plus and it is kind of different from the rest of the pack and as some of you may know when I try out any of these templates that means they have actually been incorporated on my blog itself.

This template comes with simple colors and is a neat looking one and it's very looks set it apart from others, which means it is quite different and has a style of it's own.

It has a large subscribe button at the bottom but I moved it to the top, you have to remove a bit of code and save it in a program like notebook or wordpad and after you get through setting it up you can go in your layout and choose add a widget and put the code in there and the button can show up at the top or anywhere you want to drag the widget.

I also added a br/ above that code to move the feed button down a little from my search bar, after adding it as a gadget you can move it anywhere you want, but if you leave it as is it will appear at the bottom of your sidebar.

Garbage to energy plant recycles fishing nets for electricity

Have you ever read on the net about the huge garbage dump in the ocean and is in effect the world's largest dump located in the Pacific Ocean?

A "plastic soup" of waste floating in the Pacific Ocean is growing at an alarming rate and now covers an area twice the size of the continental United States, scientists have said.

The vast expanse of debris – in effect the world's largest rubbish dump – is held in place by swirling underwater currents. This drifting "soup" stretches from about 500 nautical miles off the Californian coast, across the northern Pacific, past Hawaii and almost as far as Japan.

Charles Moore, an American oceanographer who discovered the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" or "trash vortex", believes that about 100 million tons of flotsam are circulating in the region. Marcus Eriksen, a research director of the US-based Algalita Marine Research Foundation, which Mr Moore founded, said yesterday: "The original idea that people had was that it was an island of plastic garbage that you could almost walk on. It is not quite like that. It is almost like a plastic soup. It is endless for an area that is maybe twice the size as continental United States."

Apparently someone may be able to harness some of this and turn into diesel fuel and if that works or they are able to do it, the environment would be much grateful. Here is an excerpt of a recent article on the project;

Project Kaisei will be taking a look at converting The Great Pacific Garbage Patch into diesel fuel, and this is where The Honolulu Derelict Net Recycling Program also offers some insights. Again relying on the kindness of strangers, the net recycling program works because a metal recycling company, Schnitzer Steel, volunteered to service a net collection bin, retrieve the nets, cut them into one-foot lengths at its nearby facility, and take them to HPower.

Cutting the nets into a manageable size is just one step in the recycling process. At the HPower plant, the nets are bulldozed to the required thinness, then exposed to a magnet before being burned. That’s a lot of processing just for one type of waste, the nets. Multiply that by the different kinds of plastic waste in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and that’s a challenge likely beyond the reach of a volunteer recycler.

Had a bad expierence with IE-8,can't open page mission aborted

Posted: 5/23/2009 by Floyd in Labels:

I don't know what was going on but I had to return to IE-7, before I did I tried a number of things I found on the net. What happened was that every time I tried to open my page I kept getting this thing about Internet Explorer can not open the page and mission aborted, after going to IE-7 it has not happened again I had used IE-8 for over two months on and off and nothing happened, it just happened out of the blue it started breaking on opening the page.

Beats me on why this happened right out of the blue? Maybe an update caused it or something else but it started and left me wondering why? I use Firefox most of the time and hardly ever use Internet Explorer anymore, Firefox has never had problems of opening up any page for me so that is why I use it mostly. If anyone has any suggestions or has run into this problem sound off and tell me if you fixed it and how? Meanwhile, I will continue to run IE-7 and Firefox.

You can check my back posts in templates but I don't think I have ever turned this blog red before and that is despite my somewhat left wing views,,lol. So this is red all right but after I got everything changed it seems to look very well on here, I might have to put this one in the favorite column because it preforms well and is a fairly easy set-up but you guys that come here often notice that I change my side bar items to match whatever template I'm using at the time or I try and get dang well close to it, my blog scream app does not have that may color options so I just left it the blue color other than that I changed the others out. Enjoy the red and download your own at this link;

This template does not have embeded comments below posts, you have to add code and it is different than the Aspire template I have worked on lets see if I can show you the way if I can ;
Look for this code in the HTML of your template;

<p class='comment-footer'>
<a href='data:post.addcommenturl' onclick='data:post.addCommentOnclick'><data:postcommentmsg/></a></p></b:if><if>

Replace this all with this code;

<p class='comment-footer'>
<b:if cond='data:post.embedCommentForm'> <b:include data='post' name='comment-form'/><b:else/> <b:if cond='data:post.allowComments'><a href='data:post.addCommentUrl' onclick='data:post.addCommentOnclick'><data:postcommentmsg/></a></b:if></b:if></p></b:if>

Now if everything went well you should be able to save the template and then go into your settings and embed comments below posts again, good luck.

Flat screens inspired by the Cuttlefish,that's smart

When I saw this article at PSFK the first thing I thought of was the environment and of course saving to us to, read the scientific of it but it seems to be one great idea;

Researchers at MIT are using biomimicry to create TV screens that use dramatically less energy than existing models. Using the camouflaging techniques deployed by cuttlefish as a model, the MIT group has been able to power these displays with less than 0.01% of the power used by conventional screens.

This is a 2 column template and the main reason I like this one is the ability to increase the font of the blog, in the upper right hand corner of this blog you will see the little font increase just click on that to increase or decrease the font this is a very good add-on for blogs especially for those of us who don't wear their spectacle's all the time, also beside the font increase you will see a little symbol to switch between fixed or fluid width, neat. So this is another one that joins my favs column go over to btemplates and give this one a shot;

O.K you get the idea every post has this read more link which I also remove but it can be easily be left in, it has too different header images the one that comes with it says beep the geek on it. I like the color combo on this one looks like blogger buster, go over and try this one out it is a real neat template definitely a keeper.

You Are a Werewolf

You are moody and easily provoked.

You are highly loyal and protective of those you love.

While you can be intense at times, you are generally a laid back person.

But if a fight comes your way, you will fight 'til the death if necessary.

You seem normal to most people. No one understands how different you can be.

It's like a switch flips for you sometimes - and then you're a completely different creature.

Let's hope this one does not get that bad, here is the link to the png found it with stumble upon;
