I have attacked the Dems for leadership and Nancy stands tall and does her part,,you go girl; WASHINGTON - The House yesterday narrowly approved a $73.8 billion measure to protect millions of families from the alternative minimum tax and offer new tax breaks to middle-income homeowners and low-income parents, offset by tax increases that would land primarily on wealthy Wall Street financiers.
"We planted the flag for fiscal responsibility . . . as we gave a tax cut to the middle class," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.).

This is what I'm talking about standing and taking it to 'em with this kind of responsbility, I am impressed by this new boldness to stand and not wavier and when it comes to the back-bone of America I admire her for this new found authority, she must be reading some of the blogs out there,,good job.

Pelosi has done some good things, taken the proper stance. Lately I've noticed that you can really count on Dianne Feinstein to cave in to the thugs on the Republican side of the aisle.

You know Jim she should be quite proud of her stand, I mean is this what her constituents sent her to Washington for?

    A key Bush Ally?

Please don't disparage Feinstein. She had Schumer's back, and either Mukasey was getting the job or someone worse was.
    Props to Nancy.

Progressive Democrats in California are asking their Democratic Committee to censure Feinstein , not only for this vote but for several recent Republican votes.

I don't know how anyone could know the worth of any other candidate Bush might nominate. I suppose the worst scenario would be an interim appointment where the Preznit shows no accountability whatsoever. He's already done this several times as with John Bolton.

In any case, I've never seen any reason to show any bipartisanship with the Decider - he's shown over and over that he doesn't budge as much as a micron and it's a one-way street.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting Kip don't be a stranger just comment, I like 'em all. I am not attacking Feinstein per-say I would point out things whether it be her or anyone, Dem or Repub because we send our Representatives to Washington to vote on our behalf, not corporate interests, but like you also said someone would have gotten it.

Like Jim pointed out the guy does not budge an inch on anything, that is why I commended Nancy or anyone that has the courage to stand up and say we are not a monarchy and we are not a dictatorship, the legislative branch needs to step up and govern some itself, that is what we sent them there to do.

We need strong determined people for this job people that don't let the political system rule how they should go, people like Kucinich who stick to their guns and what they believe in, basically, recess is over.

Maybe then the US can stay out of bankruptcy, remember I said maybe.
